Introducing the Open Source and Full-Featured Seed Dashboard Plans

Back to Cypress blog

We use and contribute to open source projects every day to make our products better, and believe it’s vital to support other projects - one of the reasons the Cypress Test Runner is completely free and open-source.

Today we’re launching the Open Source (OSS) Plan for the Cypress Dashboard Service - making it free for open-source projects to build higher quality software with ease and confidence. Some amazing open-source projects are already using Cypress, including:

Octokit, Spectrum, NGX-Bootstrap

Under this plan, the Dashboard is available with unlimited public test recordings, test parallelization, and run grouping for projects that have their source code publicly available and use an OSI-approved license.

Using the Dashboard with Test Runner provides a vital tool for developers and QA to optimize tests runs, gain better insights around failures, and enable collaboration around test results.

Easily optimize test runs and CI usage

Organized, readable, and shareable failure reporting

Full video-recordings of test runs

Check out our docs to get started with the OSS Plan.

Today, we’re also enhancing our Free (Seed) Plan with parallelization to speed-up your testing pipeline, and run grouping, to help you organize your run results. This is a great way to get started if you’ve been curious about these features, or just wanted to try out the Dashboard while working through our open-sourced workshop material.

Based on your feedback, we have also simplified our test recording limits. We removed the distinction between “public” and “private” test recording limits. Now there is just a single Test Recording limit for each plan - you decide whether your project should be publicly accessible or private.

Current organizations with paid subscriptions won’t see any changes and their plans will continue under the same terms from when they started their subscription. Check out our pricing page for the full details. If you have questions about this feel free to drop us a line at hello@cypress.io.

Happy Testing!
